SuperYacht Times is proud to announce that Mohammed Hussein Alshaali, Chairman of Gulf Craft, will be the keynote speaker for the Gulf Superyacht Summit 2024 (GSS).

Taking place on 4 and 5 December 2024 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, the Gulf Superyacht Summit aims to inform, assist and advise yachting clients and related interested parties, with the goal to develop the Gulf as a leading superyacht destination.

In light of significant marina developments, the emergence of new yachting events and increasing interest in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman; the summit seeks to highlight its role in regional development. This year, the GSS will focus on promoting a collective vision titled “Yachting Arabia,” aimed at establishing a strategic roadmap to position the Gulf as a leading winter destination for superyachts.

Mohammed Hussein Alshaali’s extensive experience in both foreign affairs and the maritime industry, particularly in the Gulf Region, makes him an ideal keynote speaker. Since founding Gulf Craft in 1982, Alshaali has transformed the company from a modest operation building fishing boats, into one of the world’s leading shipyards. Gulf Craft now offers a diverse range of products, from 10 to 53-metre vessels, including its flagship brand of Luxury Yachts & Superyachts – Majesty Yachts, Nomad Yachts – Long-Range Adventure Yachts, Oryx – Sport Cruisers, Silvercraft & SilverCAT – Leisure Boats and Catamarans and Utility Series – Passenger & Custom Build Vessels.

Alshaali’s illustrious career as a diplomat from 1974 to 2008 in the UAE further highlights his versatile professional background. Alshaali has played key roles throughout his political career, strengthening the UAE’s global presence. He contributed to the Arab World Department, helped establish the GCC, and served as the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN from 1984 to 1992, becoming the youngest President of the Security Council.

He also served as non-resident ambassador to Canada and Argentina, UAE Ambassador to the USA, and later as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and President of the Arab League. 

In 1982, Alshaali co-founded Gulf Craft, growing it into a global leader in the yacht industry, with a renowned R&D department and a top ten ranking among superyacht builders.
